This is probably one of my favorite Ohmiya moments ever.

I’m actually a little speechless right now. When I first read about Nino’s speech to Ohno while looking through some WakuWaku reports right during that weekend, I already thought it was a huge deal. Not just because they finally went to have dinner together (although that was absolutely awesome in itself) but because of the way Nino expressed himself. At the time and still now, there are different translations of what he said on the internet but no matter which one you read, Nino’s feelings always come across. I felt like he really wanted to make sure everyone understood one thing: This was important to him and …

The things he said to Ohno there, be absolutely meant them. Every single word of it. I already thought that when I only read about it. Seeing it on my screen now was just like winning the lottery. Because you can see it all here. Nino looks so serious. He makes no faces, isn’t doing anything to cheapen the moment. He does it in a way that is still funny, but that’s because who he is - still, look at his face: he means every word of it. He tells Ohno how he feels, how he maybe has always felt, that Ohno is very precious to him, that he cares about him, that he is his confidant and that they can tell each other anything. This, my dear people, is intimacy. In it’s purest, clearest form. And seeing Nino express it so openly, without regert, shame or distortion really chocked me up.

I think the things Nino implies and the way Ohno looks so happy there tell their very own story. I was so moved by the way Nino told Ohno that it didn’t matter if they only went out to eat again 12 years from now - that it didn’t matter at all, as long as them could stay that close for those next 12 years too. So close that the next time they miraculously go out to eat, they still won’t have a thing to talk about - because they talk about everything anyways.

I don’t know about you guys, but this made my beyond happy. I feel like Nino finally said something for the world to see, said something that he meant with every word and syllable.

This is how Arashi breaks my heart and mends it in one quick minute. This.

Every time any of them say any variant of “your existence is very precious to me”, I lose it - not because of the wording (because anyone can say those words), but because of how they make us feel the sincerity behind those words. I mean, they’re not obsessed with each other, see each other every day and act all touchy-feely 24/7 (a daydream some fangirls fantasize about which is kind of unrealistic and um, please give them a break, they have their own lives too!) Their friendship isn’t purely for show, even if their ties were formed because of exactly that: putting on a show. Somewhere during those fifteen years, they have made their own brand of friendship, something we can so effortlessly witness even in their most mundane interactions but will never really get down to the bottom and meat of. Only the five of them can know how much they have meant to each other and will continue to mean to each other, along with all the behind-the-scenes intimacies and shared moments that we can only guess at. Maybe that’s why it’s extra special when they take the moment to say it out loud and share the gift of their friendship with us, when they put everything aside to say one simple, obvious thing to a friend, a brother, a comrade, a member: your existence is precious to me. 

Because we know they mean it.
